As a ceramic artist, one questions how to make a statement in a medium so steeped with history? The answer lies in individual expression.

Naturally, my hands play a significant role creating with clay. Whether it is wedging, throwing, trimming, glazing, loading, or firing... they are in constant contact with the medium. This tactile, sensual interaction leads me to experiment with the surfaces and forms I created. I push, pull, press, paddle, carve, cut twist, brush, attach, and smooth. My hands and personality are expressed in the work.

However, making a form is only part of the process. Finishing it with trimming, glaze and fire is paramount to its success. The firing and glaze crates a harmony between surface and form, giving the work a unique signature and personality all its own.
