Artist Profile

Heather King paints with exuberant warmth and color,in both oil and watermedia. Her focus is on the wonders of nature and on setting a mood, often of contented solitude, as seen here in two of her new series, "Women and Wine".Her wonderful florals are inspired by the gardens surrounding her studio, and those at her partner winery, Peju Province. Presently she is also designing clay bead jewelry ("JOOLZ") based on the colors in her paintings.

Heather studied at the Montreal Museum School of Fine Art, and the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, where she was a part time instructor for 18 years. She also held popular drawing and watercolor classes at Napa Valley College for many years, while pursuing a long and successful career in Illustration.

At present while concentrating on her fine art,she gladly accepts commissions, and offers small private workshops at her studio.
